"Holiday" is always in singular. For example, "I’m on holiday this summer" but when you use the expression "during the holiday
s" is plural or Speak about children’s holidays for example "the summer holiday
s"
I last was on holiday I was at a village on the coast of Asturias near Galicia.
During the holidyas, I got up with the sun, fed the hens and the chicken, and helped the farmer to milk her cows… went for stroll at sunset...
It was marvellous to live to nature’s rhythm,
It wasn’t exactly that it was but …
It sounds better than the typical “ I got up and went to lie down at beach all day …”
